Long Arms Records was founded in the spring of 1996 by Sergey Kuryokhin (1954-1996) and Nick Dmitriev (1955-2004). The label was created to distribute and promote - through various formats and approaches - a wide range of marginal, forgotten, overlooked, unknown, or unidentified music, both new and old.
This includes free improvisation, contemporary composed music, noise and experimental scenes, electroacoustic and sound art (ars acustica), cross-cultural creative projects, authentic folklore, and traditional non-European music. All of these projects are connected, in different ways, to Russia, Russian music, or Russian musicians.
