The Harmen Fraanje Avalonia trio consists of three leading musicians from the Netherlands with Clemens van der Feen on bass and New York based Flin van Hemmen on drums. The internationally acclaimed website AllAboutJazz selected a performance by this trio as one of the best concerts of 2010. In the same breath as grandmasters like John Scofield, Brad Mehldau and Bill Frisell, no less. In the past the trio invited some very sepcial guest to perform together: Michael Moore (featured on the album Avalonia, released by Challenge) and Tony Malaby. The meeting with Tony resulted in the new band ‘Nuts and Bean’

Taketeru KUDO/ Vladimir VOLKOV

About performance. Kudo wrote in his e-mail: “…We saw a big change here in Japan.
The land attacked by the quake was exactly the place I had raised. My country Miyagi was ruined. My family house was destroyed though people were safe. The are strong enough to get over all this situation like every other ones are trying. I was not able to join help them as I have been totally absorbed in creating a new work that I am going to present next week. It is such a struggle to get people out of the shelter these days...
Looking forward to seeing you again soon…”
Vladimir Volkov is a best partner for Taketeru Kudo, they performed together some years ago

It’s real. Super! And not so naïve, either.
If you like music of Peter Broetzmann’s “Machine Gun”, Ken Vandermark, the Scandinavian “The Thing” and the Italian “Zu”, Japanese trumpet player Toshinori Kondo), Norwegian veteran saxophonist Frøde Gjerstadt, virtuoso master Otomo Yoshihide, group “The Ruins,” the French “Aluk Todolo” ect. – you will enjoy BROM…
“All in all, the improvisations of “Brom” are super, even if they are in truth naïve.”, - Dmitry Ukhov
